Staffing for the Baltimore Workforce Investment Board is provided by the Mayor’s Office of Employment Development. This arrangement promotes collaboration between the business-led board and the city agency charged with serving both the business community and job seekers/career builders. This arrangement also increases the effectiveness of both groups – offering the policy-focused board access to the practical realities of service provision and enriching the work of the service-oriented agency with guidance on business trends and needs.
